That on or about the SO day of T893,the plain- tiff and defendant intermarried and ever since have been and now are husband and wife. That there is no issue of said marriage. That a short time after said marriage the defendant began to shamefully neglect and to cruelly mistreat the plaintiff. That the defendaht threatened to kill the plaintiff and to prevent bodily harm to herself was compelled to leave and vacate the home of the defendant. That defendant failed to contribute to her support both before and since the separation alluded, 3--- That said separation and abandonment occurred in the month of March 1897, since which time she and the defendant have lived sepa- rate and aprt. 4-- That the plaintiff has been a resident of the State of North Car Olina for many years, in fqct all her life; that the facts set forth in this complaint have existed to her knowledge for more than two years next preceeding the institution of this action.
