The story given by the daughter,Joann Parks and probably by other witnesses, was that her mother had a play gun in her hand and she and her father were grappling. The father grabbed her hand and the mother fell back and hit her head against the bed.She did not move after this.A friend,Bertha Freeman, also gave the story that the deceased had been having some heart trouble and had beef to the doctor. The body was taken to Florence Funeral Home and the possibility of the death being due to injury, autopsy was per- formed.Examination of the cranial cavity did not reveal any evidence of hemorrhage.Examination of the chest did not reveal any evidence of injury in the chest. The lungs were normal. The heart was normal in size. There was no evidence of previous coronary occlusion and no evidence of infarct. It is my conclusion that this patient did have an acute coronary occlusion of the spastic type accounting for her death, since there was no other evidence of death due to trauma. 3 “7 /Warry£9 Underwood,M.D. In inquest necessary. It seems that the boy must have been putting on a show for his girl wi friend,Linda Cowart, since he co not have taken the pills and Still have been awake enough to have been seen by all these various individuals. He had apparently taken the pills out of the bottle. It was then possible that when he got to the site where he was eventually found that he took the pills. He was possibly sensitive to them and died of drug intoxication. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN I was heading north on Highway US 21 at about 4:25 P.M..on Friday, July 6,1956,having just worked Pope's Service Station just north of Troutman,*N.C.It was raining at the time.I-noticed an approachy ing car veer to the right slightly off the pavement, pull back onto the road, and then start skidding and spinning.I did everything possible to prevent a collision.I started slowing down and was going between ten and fifteen miles an hour at the time of the impact. The skidding car was coming down the wrong side of the road backwards after having already turned completely around one time. 'The back of the car struck the right side of the truck. One occupant of the car was thrown clear at the time.I climbed down from my truck, took a quick look at the wreck, and called across the road to Jerry Ball and told him to call an ambulance. Within three or four minutes, two highway-patrolmen appeared on the scene.
