There are some special reasons for thinking that this may @ real lead in the family connections. For instance you mention that Rachel (Holeman) Prather died in Indiana in 1862--now the David and Rachel (Holeman) Stanbury moved from N, Carolina to Indiana sometime before 1820--for there twin boys were born John and Ira Stanbury én Indiana in 1820. David and Rachel (Holeman) Stanbury returned to Ky around Laurel] County before 1850--tney are in thet census record for Leurel Co, All were neighbors in that county James Holeman and nis wife Susan (Stanberry- or Stansbury) and David and Rachs] (Holeman ) Stanturye-all --theat ts the James Holeman's and the David Stanbury's were near the same age--the same generation--in their late 60's, Also Malinda Stanbury (Stanberry--the oldest child of Devid and Recne] (Holeman) Stanbury (Stanberry) who married my grandfather Wi] Lam Stanstury--named one of her sons--REUB EN "= 30 you can see that is very possible that she named him after her wn grandfather--the father(?$ of her mother Rachel Holeman, You see so much of tnis inf mation is new to me that I have search as many clues as 1 can find, -] Go believe that the only way we'll-ever get thé lines straightened at is by correspondence between their descendants and compafing of notes --just as this information from you with reference to the Reuben who moved to Indiana “- It is a known fact that relatives often moved in groups to these new comminities, for that way they had neighbors and relatives on whom they could depend and to be able to assist one another, in Do write again soon-- and I'll contimue to fill you/on o whatever I find out. By the way, do you know whereabouts in Indiana CAME KRGMAR AMY to which R.B. and Rachel (Holeman) Prather emigrated and possibly when? , te I know of book in the California Genealoxica] Library nere which lists persons from other stetes found in the 1850 Census records--especially in the Mother Lode cOuntrye-(the gold rush area) and the first time I'm down there I'll check to see if | can findi.a David Holman--it's a chance --not very mich of a ones-but a chance--the: I'll find womething. I will keep. on the lookout for any info regarding the Swanns. Mrs Clement gave me the address of the Martins who were there recently. If they do not write to me I will write to them. Of course the Martins are not of my line but when I heard thename I was reminded of the book ("Forks of Elkhorn Church" by Darnell )so I sent you all I had copied from it. There is more in the book and if they are of that family they should read the book, THe name used to be Martain. <A French family. It seems I do not find out anything about William's line (my line) except what I got trom the census, Mr Kizzish is now working with some parts , especially trying to get data about William's War record which the War Dept. does not have. ‘It is given in "Ancestry of Grafton Johnson", in Compendiums, and several other places, elso at least one person became a DAR on his record which was all mixed up. I. want it RIGHT. “t meant a great deal, to me to get the Lovelace data. It seems most of the Lovelace family went to Texas so Imust search that state, James Holeman seemed to have gone to Tenn. but I cannot find out about all that until next month. A genealogist will look it up for me then, Il was so happy to hear from Mrs Holman in Honey Grove, Texas. She sent me the data you had given her aboutithe two Absolems. One was son of Isaac, the other his grandson (son of Isaac's son John) I feel sure we will find out that Absolem was the name of either the brothers father or grandfather, I believe the other one was James. (Only a guess, but each of the brothers had a son Jemes. ) * So far it seems to me that altho Bomas and Isaac came from Virginia, William and James evidently came from a county to the east of Rowan, They must be traced back to either Maryland or Pennsylvania, Riga was supposed to have been one of a family of 12 children, seven sons and five daughters, Tat line is the only one with that info. (Do excuse my typewriter, it seems to stick at the wrong time, ) Wonder if where are ancestors of Wm's son Thomas(who m Sarah Hendrick ) & livec in Smith @ove Dist.
