The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met in Regular Adjourned Session on
Tuesday evening, December 18, 1984, 7:30, Agricultural Center Conference Rooms 1 and
2. Present for the meeting were:
Larry S. Hedrick, Chairman
William A. Mills, Vice Chairman
Jessie S. Crosswhite
Frances L. Murdock
Alice M. Stewart
Staff present: J. Wayne Deal, County Manager
William P. Pope, County Attorney
F. William Furchea Jr., Finance Officer
Lois X. Troutman, Tax Supervisor
Alice Fortner, Clerk to the Board
CALL TO ORDER: By Chairman Hedrick
INVOCATION By J. Wayne Deal, County Manager
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION: MOTION from Chairman Hedrick to adopt the
following resolution of appreciation:
WHEREAS, the leadership Of Joe H. Troutman, III, B. Wilford Campbell, and
Samuel L. Ostwalt contributed greatly to the fiscal strength of Iredell County
and to the tremendous increase in funding to the three school systems in Iredell
County, and
WHEREAS, their capable leadership has paved the way for continued good
government in Iredell County,
THEREFORE, the Iredell County Board of Commissioners goes on record as
expressing its appreciation to Joe H. Troutman, III, B. Wilford Campbell, and
Samuel L. Ostwalt and pledges its continued support to good government for all
Iredell County citizens.

VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTION: The former county commissioners, Messrs.
Troutman, Campbell, and Ostwalt, were present and accepted a copy of the Iredell
County seal mounted on wood with a brass name nlate. Each former county commissioner
received one of the seals along with a copy Of the above -listed resolution.
Remarks were made by the chairman of the board and the former county commis-
sioners, the chairman expressing his appreciation for the work they did as board
members and the latter wing the new board success in county government.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MOTION from Commissioner Crosswhite to approve the
wishing
minutes from the meetings held on December 3, December 4, and December 10th,
1994, with a correction indicated on the December 10th meeting.
VOTING: Ayes- 5; Nays - 0.
WATER -SEWER STUDY.- REVIEW OF CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL BY CAMP DRESSER & MCREE:
Mr. Deal, county manager, brought the board up to date on the status of the contract
proposed for the water and sewer study in Iredell County.
' The previous board of county commissioners had appointed a water/sewer
line study committee to review proposals for a county -wide study. This committee,
chaired by Bill Morrow of Mooresville, had recommended the firm of Camp Dresser &
