RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Iredell County is located in the heart of Piedmont, North Carolina, near the center of
the famous Piedmont Crescent; and
WHEREAS, due to its location and population Iredell County has in recent years experienced
balanced economic growth, and
WHEREAS, planners and other experts have projected for the future of Iredell County industrial
development of a phenomenal nature; and
WHEREAS, one of the major crossroads of the nation is located near the center of Iredell County
in the City of Statesville; and
WHEREAS, one of the potential sites for the location of a hazardous waste incinerator is
located in one of the quadrants of the intersection of I-77 and I-40 on one of the most desirable
industrial sites in the state; and
WHEREAS, the future economic development of Iredell County is directly dependent upon the area
of the county in which the proposed site is located;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is:
