that the technological explosion now. Do you understand
what that means? It means that probably in another year
we are going to have as much new advances as we have had
in the last ten years,It's increasing at a geometric ratio.
It's going on faster. The things that are on the drawing
boards in the laboratories are going to b e out for use
by medical science, I think are going to stagger our
imaginations in the next few years. But again, they"re
going to cost something. The price of medical care is
going to go up, absolutely it's going to go up. But the
wonderful things that are going to accomplished for people,
it's going to be worth it.

My name is Mrs. Putnam. I'm a resident, life-long,
of Iredell County, as have been my forefathers for many
years. I would like to ask, first of all, I would like to
make a personal statement. Some of you in this room I
know personally. some I do not.
I am and have been a cancer patient. My husband
at this time is a cancer patient. In the last two months
I have taken him, once in the middle of the night, once in
the early morning hours, and one he had to go when I
happened to be out of town, to the hospital. I would like
