don't know the answer to that. But we feel it should be
investigated just as relocation of our present county -owned
hospital should be thoroughly investigated. The truly sad
situation of this whole proposal is the timing. To thrust upon
the residents of Iredell County a potential tax increase
when we are in the pits of a deep recession, 13.2% unemployment
rate, which is Friday's figures, and we are losing industry
here in Mooresville at an unacceptable rate, we feel is poor.
We request the county commissioners not to approve
referendum for this in November. But wait until the economy
is better and all possible alternatives are adequately
considered in an unbiased manner, in order that we might
all work together to assure a successful conclusion for the
best possible medical care at the most reasonable price for
the people of southern Iredell County.
