Beyond that, our physician recruitment committee is finding more and more physicans who visit Mooresville find it an appealing area and they are also looking for a hospital with progressive equipment and facilities to aid them in preventing„ diagnosing and treating, illness. If they do not find up-to-date facilities here, they will go elsewhere where such facilities exist and eventually the citizens of Mooresville will have to go elsewhere for their health core. j "General obligation bonds are the least expensive way to raise money for these improvements. A public opinion poll conducted in May by the Epley Associates revealed that 55 per cent of the county citizens feel there is a need for both Lowrance and Iredell Memorial Hospitals to renovate and expand their buildings in order to provide better service. When asked if they would support or turn down general obligation bonds in a county -wide referendum, 60% of registered voters polled said they had already made up their minds to approve such bonds provided there would be no increase in taxes. "The total bond issue, including $14,050,000 for Iredell Memorial Hospital and $8.7 million for us, is a total of $22,750,000. The total payback over a 20 -year period is $39 million for Iredell Memorial and $21 million for Lowrance. BOUN 25 PA -E939
