PAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT: MOTION from Chairman Haire to agree
to pay the back wages to settle the Department of Labor Findings in
the amount of $15,619.15 and to bank comp time in the amount of
$6,691.46, for a full settlement of all claims against the
Department of Social Services.
Commissioner Boone said he considered the county was not
morally and legally obligated to pay this amount, and that the
County is paying this under duress.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
ADJOURN: MOTION from Commissioner Madison to adjourn the
meeting at 11:00 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
March 24, 1993, 12:00 noon, South Wing Conference Room, Iredell
County Government Center, 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC.
