REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT #7 FOR THE PURPOSE OF RE -APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR OUTSTANDING CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SELF-INSURED WORKERS COMP FUND (Prior to fiscal year 1998-99, the county was self-insured for workers compensation coverage. Three claims remain to be paid from the self-insured plan. The budget amendment will re -appropriate the remaining fund balance of $214,000.) 6. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT #8 FOR THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM CAPITAL RESERVE TO THE TROUTMAN VFD BUDGET FOR PURCHASE OF A TRUCK AS APPROVED BY THE FIRE TAX DISTRICT BOARD ON JULY 29,1999 (This amendment will transfer $150,000 to the Troutman VFD budget for purchase of a truck.) 7. REQUEST FROM DSS FOR APPROVAL OF AN AGREEMENT FOR THE LEASING OF ADDITIONAL SPACE AT THE WALNUT STREET FACILITY (This lease will be for 2,976 sq. ft. of space located at 212 West Front Street and will be occupied by two child welfare teams. The lease will extend from October 1, 1999 - December 31, 2000. This agreement will run concurrent with the other lease that DSS has for space in the same building.) 8. REQUEST FOR ADOPTION OF A PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 3-9,1999, AS RESIDENTS' RIGHTS WEEK (for individuals residing in long term care facilities) PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Residents of long term care facilities are one of our greatest resources; and WHEREAS, the federal and state regulations guarantee them all rights to maintain their dignity and autonomy; and WHEREAS, we wish to honor and celebrate these American citizens NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sara K. Haire, representing the citizens of Iredell County, do hereby proclaim October 3-9, 1999 as RESIDENTS' RIGHTS WEEK
