SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 16.1998
The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met for a Special Meeting on Friday,
October 16, 1998, at twelve o'clock noon in the South Wing Conference Room, of the Iredell
County Government Center, 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC.
In attendance were: Sara K. Haire, Chairman
Steve Johnson, Vice Chairman
David Boone
Alice Fortner
Alice Stewart
Staff present: Joel Mashburn, County Manager
Jean Moore, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Haire called the meeting to order.
CLOSED SESSION: MOTION by Chairman Haire to enter into Closed Session for the
purpose of discussing a Personnel Matter - G.S. 143-318.11 (a) (6).
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
Upon the return to Open Session, Chairman Haire announced to the press that no action
was taken during the Closed Session.
REQUEST TO SERVE ON NCACC LEGISLATIVE GOALS COMMITTEE:
Commissioner Stewart said she had been requested to serve on the Legislative Goals committee
for the North Carolina Association for County Commissioners. There was no opposition voiced
by any of the other commissioners.
ADJOURNMENT: MOTION by Chairman Haire to adjourn the meeting at 1:31 p.m.
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, October 20, 1998, 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., in the Iredell County
Government Center.
