HomeMy WebLinkAboutC.054.93011_1770IREDELL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BRIEFING MINUTES DECEMBER 18 2007 The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met in Briefing Session on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at 5:00 P.M., in the Iredell County Government Center (South Wing Conference Room), 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC. Board Members Present Chairman Marvin Norman Vice Chairman Sara Haire Tice Steve Johnson Ken Robertson Godfrey Williams Staff present: County Manager Joel Mashburn, Deputy County Manager Susan BIumenstein, Communications Director David Martin, Health Director Donna Campbell, Recreation Director Robert Woody, Transportation Director Ben Garrison, Library Director Steve Messick, Fire Marshal Lloyd Ramsey, Tax Administrator Bill Doolittle, and Clerk to the Board Jean Moore. CALL TO ORDER by Chairman Norman UPDATE FROM THE MOORESVILLE TOWN MANAGER REGARDING SEWER CAPACITY: Town of Mooresville Manager Jamie Justice said several news articles had been published about the municipality's sewer capacity, and he desired to clear up some misconceptions. He said the town had sewer space, and its wastewater plant's capacity was 5.2 million gallons a day while it was only treating 2 million a day. He said the town allocated space using a build -out schedule, and an allocation policy was being drafted. Justice said many projects, currently in the development stage, were already included in the schedule, and one example was Cornelius Road. In regards to the new Coddle Creek School project, Justice said the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources would ensure that adequate sewer capacity was available.
