BRIEFING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 15, 2005
The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met in Briefing Session on
Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at 5:00 P.M., in the Iredell County Government Center
(South Wing Conference Room), 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC.
Present were:
Chairman Sara Haire Tice
Steve Johnson
Marvin Norman
Ken Robertson
Absent: Vice Chairman Godfrey Williams
Staff present: County Manager Joel Mashburn, Deputy County Manager Susan
Blumenstein, Tax Administrator Bill Doolittle, Fire Marshal Lloyd Ramsey,
Transportation Director Ben Garrison, Planning Supervisor Steve Warren, and Clerk to
the Board Jean Moore.
CALL TO ORDER by Chairman Tice.
Four routine agenda items were explained by the department heads.

UPCOMING CENTRALINA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS (COG)
BOARD OF DELEGATES MEETING REGARDING CATAWBA WATEREE
RELICENSING: Commissioner Robertson announced that at the next COG meeting,
a presentation would be given about Duke Power's relicensing project. Robertson said
this was an important meeting, and someone from Iredell County needed to attend to
voice questions and/or concerns. Mr. Robertson said, unfortunately, a work conflict
would prevent him from attending. He suggested that another commissioner attend the
meeting that would be held in Gaston County.
Commissioner Johnson, who serves as the alternate COG board member, said he
would attend. Planning Supervisor Steve Warren, who has been staying abreast about
the relicensing project, will insure that Mr. Johnson receives all materials relevant to the
meeting.
ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Tice adjourned the briefing session at 5:30 PM.
Mrs. Tice and County Manager Mashburn then departed for a brief meeting with a
prospective industrial client at the Statesville Country Club.)
