OTIO by Commissioner Johnson to close the nominations and appoint Searcy and Oliphant by acclamation. VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0. Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee (8 appointments): Commissioner Williams nominated Margaret Marks. OTIO by Chairman Tice to (1) close the nominations (2) appoint Marks by acclamation and (3) postpone the remaining seven appointments until the October 18 meeting. VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0. Nursing Home Advisory Committee (4 appointments): Commissioner Robertson nominated Kathy Smith and Carolyn Anderson. NEW BUSINESS Statesville Airport Update: Commissioner Johnson announced that NASCAR Racer Greg Biffle had chosen to locate aircraft at the airport which would increase the tax base by $5 million. Johnson said the airport's tax base would continue to increase in the next few years due to the recent improvements.
