Request from the Sheriffs Department for Approval of Budget Amendment #51 to Recognize Receipts ($18,000) from Federal Equity Sharing Funds and to Appropriate for Additional Costs Relating to Fingerprint Equipment: Chief Deputy Dowdle said during the five o'clock meeting that grant money was previously approved to purchase fingerprint equipment. He said the equipment had been delayed; however, it was now available and the $18,000 was needed for the $32,369 purchase. 5. Request for Approval of Budget Amendment #52 to Recognize Discretionary Funds ($3,000) Received from the Department of Juvenile Justice and to Appropriate the Funding (pass-tbrough) to Project Challenge: Finance Director Susan Blumenstein said during the briefing session that the state department of juvenile justice had appropriated $3,000 in additional funding (pass-through) for the Project Challenge restitution program. She said no funds were needed from the county. 6. Request for Approval of Budget Amendment #53 for $455,168.55 & to Recognize Public School Building Capital Funds for a Mooresville Graded School District Land Purchase: Finance Director Blumenstein said at the 5 o'clock meeting that the Mooresville Schools desired to apply for $455,168.55 in public school building capital funds as a reimbursement for part of the $2,504,981.17 purchase price for 100 acres of land. She said that once approved by the Department of Public Instruction, a reimbursement check would be submitted to the Mooresville unit. Blumenstein said a budget amendment was needed to recognize the grant and to forward the funds to the school system. 7. Request for Approval of Bids for the Iredell County Revenue Center (Old Library Bldg.) & Approval of an Amended Capital Project Fund for the Renovations: Support Services Director Jim Vernon along with Architect Chuck Goode said bids were opened on May 26, 2005 for renovations on the former library building. Vernon said the low bid was from Granger Construction at $954,000.00, and the staff recommended the awarding of the contract to this company. He said references had been checked, and everything was in order for approval of the bids. Goode said multi -prime bids could not be used. He said this was due to no plumbing companies being interested in the project. The bids are as follows: Low bid awarded to Granger Construction.
