IREDELL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING – REPORT TO THE PEOPLE
July 27, 2021
The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met in special gathering on Tuesday, July 27,
2017 at 6:00 PM, in the Iredell County Agricultural Center, 444 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC.
Board Members Present
Chairman James B. Mallory III
Vice Chair Melissa Neader
Commissioner Scottie Brown
Commissioner Gene Houpe
Members Absent
Commissioner Marvin Norman
Staff present: County Manager Beth Mull, Finance Director Debra Cheek, Deputy County
Manager Beth Jones, Deputy County Manager Susan Robertson, Assistant County Manager Joe
Pierce, County Attorney Lisa Valdez, and Clerk to the Board Amy Anderson.
The Board met with Iredell County Cooperative Extension for the annual Report to the
People.
Cooperative Extension Agent Nancy Keith called the meeting to order and introduced her
staff and recognized attending state and local elected and appointed officials.
Agent Keith expressed appreciation for the working relationship with state and local
government. She briefly explained the different aspects of Cooperative Extension. Attendees were
divided into six groups and asked to visit each booth hosted by various agents within Cooperative
Extension. At each booth, agents described their area of interest and their accomplishments over
the last year.
Chairman James Mallory expressed thanks to all of the staff for their informative
presentations.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION by Vice Chair Neader to adjourn at 7:50PM. (The next meeting will be Tuesday,
August 3, 7:00 PM, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Pre-Agenda Meeting at 5:00PM,
Government Center, 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC)
