This matter will, of course, require a vote of the
commissioners. One person, one commissioner making the
motion, does not in effect establish the action, for the
benefit of those who are there. But the next business in
order would be a second reading of the bond order, which
was introduced on August 17th, and at that time, we would
need then a motion and a second from the members of the
board of commissioners and the chairman call for a vote.
The second reading of the bond order introduced
on August 17, 1972, which was entitled "Order Authorizing
$22,750,000 Hospital Facilities Bonds" is as follows:
Be it ordered by the Board of Commissioners of
Iredell County:
1, That pursuant to the Local Government Bond Act,
as amended, the County of Iredell, North Carolina, is
hereby authorized to issue hospital facilities bond in an
aggregate principal amount not exceed $22,750,000 for the
purpose of providing funds with any other available funds
for constructing and equipping additions to and renovations
of Iredell Memorial and Lowrance Hospitals, and acquiring
any necessary land therefor.
2. That taxes shall be levied in an amount sufficient
to pay the principal and the interest on said bonds.
3. That a sworn statement of the debt of the county
has been filed with the Clerk and is open to public inspection.
