instrument or document which may be necessary or expedient in connection with the
fulfillment of the provisions of the Commitment Letter, the Contract and the Deed
of Trust.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF MARCS 19, 1996, MINUTESS MOTION by
Commissioner Stewart to approve the captioned minutes (Briefing and
Regular).
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
REQUEST FOR SMART START APPLICATION LETTERS Commissioner
Stewart said this request was for the application process. Iredell
County has not been accepted in the past for this program. The
application process now only needs one letter of endorsement.
Stewart has been asked to serve on the application committee.
Commissioner Boone said he didn't endorse the program per se;
however, if the State had the money then the County should try to
get its share. The money, to begin with, should be left in the
County.
It was the consensus of the Board to make sure the letter
simply stated that the County desired to be included in the
application process.
MOTION by Chairman Haire to grant the endorsement request for
the SMART START program.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
(Commissioner Boone did not cast an audible vote.)
ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES OCCURRING ON BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS
Tri -County Mental Health Board: Commissioner Madison has
resigned from this Board.

Margaret Ford by Commissioner Stewart.
Chairman Haire moved that the nominations be closed and that
Mrs. Ford be appointed by acclamation.

Region F Aging Advisory Board (1 alternate): Commissioner
Madison moved to table this alternate appointment until the April
16 meeting.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
