REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF FARMERS NONE ADMINISTRATION (FRA) LEASE: Mrs. Blumenstein explained that this is for the FHA to continue to lease 1,341 sq. ft of space at the Agricultural Building for another five years. The county can only recover operating costs for the space because the federal government provided funding for the building. The new rent is recommended to be $8,217 a year or $685 monthly. Each year the rent will be adjusted based on the consumer price index. MOTION by Commissioner Madison to approve the Farmers Home Administration lease and authorize the chairman to sign the document. ADOPTION OF PROCLAMATION FOR HUNTING i FISHING DAY: MOTION by Commissioner Boone to approve the following proclamation: HUNTING AND FISHING DAY - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1995 Hunting and fishing haw always been an important part of the American tradition. While these activities may no longer be necessary for survival -- as they veru in the early days of the nation -- they are still relevant today. Sportsmen and sportswoman recognize the critical role of habitat -- quantity and quality of air, land, water, adequate cover or shelter, appropriate apace, and sufficient arrangement -- for the existence of all living things. For over 100 years, they haw been in the forefront of the conservation movement. Not content with merely vocalizing their support, hunters and angler* requested special foes and taxes on their equipment to pay for scientific research, habitat acquisition and improvement, education, and enforcement. Over the years, funds raised a total of over $1 billion for conservation. Programs financed by the hunters and anglers have 1W to the dramatic comeback of many wildlife epeci... These included gene species such as the wild turkey, tundra swan, snow gazes, ducks, and white-tailed doer.
