REGION F ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Commissioner Stewart nominated Mrs. Harriet Lips, presently serving as an alternate, to the vacated term of Mr. June Reece. MOTION by Commissioner Madison to close the nominations and appoint Mrs. Lips by acclamation. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. NOTIFICATION OF VACANCIES ON BOARDS AMD COMMISSIONS: The Zoning Board of Adjustment has an opening for an alternate member. Also, the Region F Advisory Committee has an opening for an alternate member. UNFINISEED BUSINESS: The county manager advised that at the last meeting he had been directed to seek new proposals on an hourly basis for the Employee Assistance Program instead of the per employee contract basis. Previously proposals had been submitted by Tri -County Mental Health and The Counseling Center of Iredell. Tri -County does not desire to participate using an hourly basis. The Counseling Center preferred not to use this method; however, they will comply. MOTION by Commissioner Madison to enter into an agreement with The Counseling Center of Iredell for the Employee Assistance Program using an hourly basis. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. stated that District COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT: Mr. Mashburn Attorney Gene Morris had sent a letter of thanks for the assistance in getting office space (Exchange Building) for employees of his office. Evie Caldwell and Jerry Lundy were commended for their efforts. Efforts are being made currently to try to develop a security plan for the court facilities at the Mooresville Town Hall. it was recently surveyed and several inadequacies were listed. The Administrative Office of the Courts has assigned Kim Hagan to work with the manager, Judge Robert Johnson, and Rick McLean, Mooresville Town Manager, to try to develop a plan for security. A consulting firm might be needed. The Town of Mooresville did allocate some funds towards tightening security at the facility. if a request for assistance is determined, it will be brought back to the commissioners. There has been a request from the Rainbow Girls to hold a Rok-A-hon on ofc the Tgovernmentu government ter. No AproblemsP were estepsar the front voiced about ths request.
