ORGANIZATIONAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 6.2004
The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met at 11:00 a.m., on Monday,
December 6, 2004, in the Iredell County Government Center (Commissioners' Meeting
Room), 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC. (This was an organizational meeting
for the 2004-2006 Iredell County Board of Commissioners.)
Present were:
Steve D. Johnson
Marvin Norman
Kenneth M. Robertson Jr. "Ken"
Sara Haire Tice
R. Godfrey Williams
Staff present: County Manager Joel Mashburn, County Attorney Bill Pope,
Finance Director Susan Blumenstein, and Clerk to the Board Jean Moore.
CALL TO ORDER by County Manager Joel Mashburn.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN: Commissioner Robertson nominated
Sara Haire Tice for the chairman 's position. No further nominations were submitted.
OTIO by Commissioner Norman to close the nominations and appoint
Sara Haire Tice as the chairman of the board of commissioners by acclamation.
VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0.
Chairman Tice then presided at the meeting.
ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN: Commissioner Johnson nominated
Godfrey Williams for the vice chairman's position. No further nominations were
submitted.
OTIO by Chairman Tice to close the nominations and appoint
Godfrey Williams as the vice chairman of the board of commissioners by acclamation.
VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0.
APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY ATTORNEY: Commissioner Norman
nominated Bill Pope for the county attorney's position. No other nominations were
submitted.
OTIO by Chairman Tice to close the nominations and appoint Bill Pope as
the county attorney by acclamation.
VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0.
APPOINTMENT OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD: Commissioner
Johnson nominated Jean C. Moore for the clerk to the board's position. No other
nominations were submitted.
OTIO by Chairman Tice to close the nominations and appoint
Jean C. Moore to the clerk to the board's position by acclamation.
VOTING: Ayes — 5; Nays — 0.
