to this ad hoc committee. Chairman Haire moved to close the
nominations and appoint Montgomery by acclamation.

NEW BUSINESS
JOINT MEETING WITH PLANNING BOARDt Commissioner Boone
suggested a joint meeting with the planning board to discuss mutual
concerns and to receive an update on BENCHMARK's Land Development
Plan. The county manager was directed to arrange a dinner meeting
for early November preferably on a Thursday evening.
JOINT DINNER MEETING WITH SCHOOL BOARDS: A reminder was given
about the dinner meeting with school officials to be held September
23, 1997, 6:30 p.m., at Julia's Talley House.
