MOTION by Commissioner Johnson to grant the school system's request to utilize the high
school construction fund balance for the listed items with a stipulation that the school officials give
a final accounting on how the money was spent.

Commissioner Johnson asked how the department used the contingency money.
Lamb said the money stayed in Iredell County, and the highway department continued on
down the list to the next road needing improvements. He said the state was in a budget "crunch,"
and the county might not receive all of the money.
