She said the lease was for a two-year term, but it could be extended for two additional terms of one-year each. 4. REQUEST FROM THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR APPROVAL. TO APPLY FOR A BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT: Sgt. Neil Hayes, of the sherift"s department, said the U.S. Department ofJustiee/Bureau ofJustice Assistance was offering a bulletproof vest partnership grant. Hayes said the department wanted to purchase ten vests, at 5450 per vest, with a 50% federal and 50% local match grant. 5. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF BUDGET AMENDMENT #38 FOR THE RECOGNITION OF ADDITIONAL STATE AND FEDERAL, GRANTS FOR DSS: At ill, briefing session, DSS Director Wall said his department hadreceived increased allocations in several line items during FY 2000-01. He said the money was 100% federal and state fiords. in addition, he said the department had received $30,000 to purchase services for domestic violence victims. 6. REQUEST FROM THE WELFARE REFORM COMMITTEE FOR CLARIFICATIONS AND CHANGES TO BE APPROVED FOR THE 2001-2003 ELECTING COUNTY PLAN: Four (4) clarifications were made to the 2001-2003 Plan. They were: • On page 94 (VIII. A. L(c) step -siblings must be included in the WFFA payment. • On page 94 (f) countable income -- all earned and unearned income, including Supplemental Security Income, of a family unit will be counted unless the income is excluded due to federal or 11
