Commissioner Stewart asked the
recidivism rate.
Gullett said she actually did not know the overall percentage for all programs; however,
Project Challenge, a new restitution program, had a low recidivism rate.
Commissioner Johnson asked about the Positive Director for Youth (PDY) program.
Gullett said the program was operated by the same group that operated The Malachi House.
She said that in the past PDY, had primarily been operated by volunteers. A new 16,000 sq. fl.
recreational and educational complex was recently built on Rickert Street. This facility houses the
youth programs.
Stewart asked about the psychological evaluation program.
Gullett said the psychologicals paid out of Office Juvenile Justice funding were only for
court ordered assessments. (The juvenile probation officers contract with a local psychological
office on annual basis.)
MOTION by Commissioner Johnson to approve the FY 2000-01 JCPC funding request as
presented.

1. Request to Transfer Funds from the COmmiss4a and Seized Asset Fund to a S endin
Line Item. ($894 will be used to purchase a defibrillator.)
2. Re -guest to Transfer from the Commissan,Account 8 900 for the construction and
installation ofa Security ate and lock at the end of the exterior corridor located between the 'ail and
hall of'ustice.
3. Reouest to Transfer 122,900.00 from Seized Funds for An Anti -Drug Campaign,
4. Request to transfer 989 from Seized Funds for the urchase of a flat ane( com uter
monitor to be used in offices where s ace is limited.
