WHEREAS, Richard Moe, President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, has said "that
the millennium is a time w reflect on where we've been and where we're going"; and
WHEREAS, the theme for the 29a' Annual National Trust Preservation Week is "'taking Past into the Future"; and
America's
WHEREAS, this year's theme celebrates the link between the past and present, challenging
plan for the issues that will confront us in the years to come; and

WHEREAS, all citizens of Iredell County need to be vigilant, flexible, and well-informed in order
to deal with the rapid changes that are sure to make an impact on our irreplaceable, historic treasures; and
WHEREAS, citizens of Iredell County are concerned with preservation; and
WHEREAS, the board "commissioners and officials of Iredell County have renovated the Old
Courthouse, and it is now being used as a governmental center; and
WHEREAS, other governmental agencies, and many individuals throughout renovated historic structures; and
