DISCUSSION OF A ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT IN REFERENCE TO OFF-
PREMISESSIG.'VS FOR HOME OCCUPATIONS ANDOTHER BUSINESSES LOCATED
IN RESIDENTIALLY ZONED DISTRICTS: Planning Supervisor Allison said that in the last
few months the planning department had received sonic complaints about inadequate directional
signage for farms and small businesses. He said a letter had also been received from the local farn)
bureau. Allison said the current sign ordinance had sonic provisions, e.g., real estate,
religious/charitable, Iiaterllal,military,etc.I-lowever,thercarenoprovisionsli)ro17=prcnlisessigils
for farms or small businesses. Allison said his office would be glad to review the matter further, if
requested by the commissioners.
Commissioner Bowles said he didn't want to prohibit farmers and small businesses from
operating their businesses. He said, however, he could see where intersections could become a
problem.
