VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT New Agricultural Building: Mashburn said a pre -final walkthrough would soon occur. He said the City of Statesville started this week extending the sewer line. He continued by saying the occupants should be in the building in July. Red Cross Blood Drive: The county will be participating in a blood drive on June 13, 2001, from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. He invited the commissioners to participate and said the drive would be at the agricultural center. CLOSED SESSIONS:OTt01` by Chairman Tice to enter into a closed session for the purpose ofdiscussing G.S. 143-318. 11 (a) 4 - Economic Development. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. Attorney Pope advised that he had a property acquisition matter that he also wanted discussed, v�fOT10 by Chairman Tice to also discuss a G.S. 143-318. 11 (a) 5 - Property Acquisition matter during the closed session. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION AT 9:00 P.M. CALL FOR A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING AN ECONOMIC INCENTIVE FOR THE LOWE'S DISTRIBUTION CENTER ON TOMLIN MILL ROAD, STATESVILLE, NC: OTIO by Chairman Tice to call for a public hearing on Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at 7:00 p.m., regarding an economic grant incentive in the amount of $41,360 per year, over a five-year period, based on an $11 million expansion project proposed by the Lowe's Distribution Center, with the incentive to be used for infrastructure extension, paving, and site preparation. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. ADJOURNMENT: OTIO by Chairman Tice to adjourn the meeting at 9:01 p.m. NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, June 13, 2001 for a Budget Meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the South Wing Conference Room of the Iredell County Government Center.
