JURISDICTION (2 appts-): No nominations were submitted, and Chairman Tice moved to
postpone these two appointments until the May 15 meeting and to request for the clerk to contact
the Statesville Planning Department and inquire about potential appointees.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL 0 appt.): Commissioner Bowles
nominated Crystal Sain as the District Attorney's designee.
Chairman Tice FilloNed to close the nominations and appoint Sam by acclamation.

IREDF.LL COUNTY INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES & POLLUTION CONTROL
FINANCING AUTHORITY 0 appts.): Commissioner Johnson nominated J.D. Chamberlain,
Lonnie Troutman, and Loren Powell for reappointments.

TROUTMAN PLANNING/"ZONING BOARD - EXTRATERRITORIAL
JURISDICTION (2 appts.): MOTION by Chainman Tice to postpone the Troutman Planning
Board (ETJ) appointments until the May 15 meeting.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
CENTRALINACOUNCIL OFGOVERNMENTS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
BOARD (2 apptsJ: Commissioner Ray moved to reappoint Jeff McKay and Ian Comer to the
Workforce Development Board.
VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
EXIT 42: Commissioner Johnson said he had talked to sonic of the Exit 42 property owncts
and to the county's planning director about a possible compromise with the Town of Trouunan. Ile
said it appeared that an agreement might soon be reached. Commissioner Johnson requested the
board's penmission to continue the discussions on the matter. Me said the planning director (Ron
Smith) might be able to return to the May 15 meeting with a recommendation.
Chairman Tice asked the other board members if they had any problems \\ ith Commissioner
Johnson's proposal and no one voiced any opposition.
