HomeMy WebLinkAboutC.054.93010_0375 (2)Mashburn said the initial directive to the FTDB was to find a way to reduce the debt. A
year later, the FTDB members told the board of commissioners they couldn't provide a plan.
There was some discussion about the finance director drafting the debt reduction formula,
however, due to a heavy workload in this department, Centralina was asked to perform the work.
Mashburn said there may have been some miscommunication to Centralina in the beginning, and
there were some delays because the fire departments were not submitting the information. tie
said the only item submitted by Centralina, at the present, was a schedule of debt. Mashburnsaid
Centralina was told that a debt -reduction formula was also needed.
Commissioner Williams asked for a written report about the actions that had transpired
about the debt reduction plan.
Commissioner Bowles said he heard that Centralina did not feel the county had that much
debt to be concerned about. He asked if anyone else had heard this.
Commissioner Johnson said he, too, had heard this. He said he was not interested in an
opinion, but he was interested in a solution.
