enhance the mosquito prevention program. He said this was due to the West Nile virus. Rabe said
the virus was a mosquito -borne disease that had infected people in the northern states. He said birds
were the natural hosts for the virus.
EXOTIC ANIMALS: The board members discussed a family in the northern end of the
county that had two lions. It was requested that the Animal Control Officer check with the owner
of the animals to see if they were properly permitted by the federal government.
ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Ticemotioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 p.m. NEXT
MEETING: Briefing (5:00 p.m.) and Regular Session (7:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, May l 6, 2000, in the
