There were no other nominations. MOTION FROM Commissioner Madison to close and appoint Miss Bailey by acclamation. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. LAKE NORMAN MARINE COMMISSION: Commissioner Haire nominated Dr. Jackie Grigg to begin a term on October 1, 1991 and concludes September 30, 1996. This is the second seat that rotates among the four counties involved in the marine commission. MOTION from Chairman Sloan to close and appoint Dr. Grigg by acclamation. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. OLD BUSINESS COLONEL SHARPE HOUSE: The County Manager discussed an offer being made to the County for the Colonel Sharpe house. The conditions of the offer are as follows: 1. A portion of the house would continue to be used as a residence as long as the two individuals who are giving the house are alive. 2. The house is to be used for public use such as meeting rooms or displaying items of interest such as art objects or historical artifacts. Chairman Sloan said the board should know a little more what they are going to do with the ' house. The County Manager was asked to do further investigation and report back to the board. PAULINE CHAPPELL TO SPEAK: MOTION from Commissioner Madison to adjust the agenda to allow Mrs. Chappell to speak. Mrs. Chappell spoke on the need for water and sewer in the county. EXECUTIVE SESSION: MOTION from Chairman Sloan to adjourn to executive session to discuss personnel matters. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. MOTION from Commissioner Madison to adjourn from executive session. VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. ADJOURN: MOTION from Commissioner Madison to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 3, 1941, 3:00 p.m., South Wing Conference Room, Iredell County Government Center, for briefing on the Regular Agenda scheduled for 7:00 p.m, on the same evening.
