Present: Chairman Sara Haire Tice Vice Chairman Steve D. Johnson Tommy E. Bowles Alice T. Fortner Alice M. Stewart Staff Present: County Manager Joel Mashburn, County Attorney Bill Pope, Finance Director Susan Blumenstein, Planning Supervisor William Allison, and Clerk to the Board .lean Moore. CALL TO ORDER by Chairman Tice. INVOCATION by Vice Chairman Johnson. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ADJUSTMENTS OF THE AGENDA: MOTION by Chairman Tice to adjust the agenda by the following revisions. Addition: Request for Assistance from the State of North Carolina (Archaeology Dept.) in Reference to a Possible Abandoned Burial Ground at the Intersection of Triplett Road and Hwy. 801. Deletion: Request for Approval of a Recommendation Regarding the Disposal ol'C'ounty Property Located on Highway 150, Mooresville (old transfer station site) VOTING: Ayes - 5; Nays - 0. PRESENTATION OF SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS & AWARDS RECOGNITION OF [BEDELL COUNTY RETIREES: RECOGNITION OF IOt°R IREDELL COUNTY RETIREES I . Foy L. Frye - Retiree ofthe Solid Waste Department 2. Thomas E. Hoke - Retiree ofthe Sheriffs Department 3. Carroll B. Starrette - Retiree ofthe EMS Department 4. Arthur A. Waugh, Retiree ofthe Inspections Department APPOINTMENTS BEFORE THE BOARD REQUEST FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (CJPP) COMMITTEE FOR APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE IREDELL COUNTY DAY REPORTING CENTER: James Smallings, the case manager for the day reporting center, said the CJPP Committee recently met and voted to recommend the continuation of the center. The committee also recommended for the county to allow the request for state funding. The same funding request of $134,268 will be sent to the state for FY 2000-01. Similar to what has been done in the past, the county will contract with Appropriate Punishment Options to administer the reporting center.
