PRESENTATION OF SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS
TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK 4/14-20/91: MOTION from Commissioner Stewart to adopt the following
resolution:
WHEREAS, Thousands of dedicated telecommunicators daily serve the citizens of the United States
by answering their calls for police, fire and emergency medical services and by dispatching the
appropriate assistance as quickly as possible and
WHEREAS, The critical functions performed by professional telecommunicators often mean the
difference between life and death: and
WHEREAS, Professional telecommunicators work to improve the emergency response capabilities of
these communications systems through their skills, leadership and participation in local, state and
national training programs: and
WHEREAS, The Association of Public -Safety Communications Officers has set aside the second week
in April to recognize telecommunicators and their crucial rose in the protection of life and
property,
WE, The Iredell County Board of Commissioners do hereby proclaim the week of April 14 - 20,
1991 as TELECOM MUNICATORS WEEK in Iredell County, North Carolina, in honor and recognition of our
county's telecommunicators and the vital contributions they make to the safety and well-being of our
citizens.

PUBLIC HEARING
Chairman Sloan ad,iourned the meeting to a public hearing as advertised for the purpose of
hearing comments on a Proposal to Amend County Code Reference to Addition of Nouse Numbering
Procedures. Those speaking'— aFf eTiearing were:
Larry Dickerson, Emergency Communications Director, who is staff heading -effective
this pro,iect. the
Dickerson gave an overview of the house numbering procedures. He said the effectand Troutman are
house numbering proiect would be July 1, 1993. The towns of Harmony, love Valley,
reviewing the proposal. Mooresville and Troutman have not commented. He pointed out there would be
an addition of a position called "911 Coordinator."
No one present spoke for or against the proposal.
Chairman Sloan closed the public hearing.
